Everyone will at all times have to sink resources into being on guard and asking how every action potentially weakens or strengthens them.
Trust is the inverse of zero sum ideology. Trust means you can let your guard down just a little and spend a few less resources being on guard, but people with a zero sum ideology destroy this.
